专业介绍:
一、Master of Arts---Geography地理学硕士
The Master’s program offers two plans: the thesis (Plan I) and the examination (Plan II) alternatives. The thesis (Plan I) will summarize the results of original scholarly research in Geography. The thesis shall conform to the style required by the Library/Graduate Division and shall be suitable in form and format for publication.
学校给学生提供了两个项目计划:

The minimum score for consideration is 550 when taking the paper test, 213 when taking the computer test, and 80 when taking the internet test.

Program Overview
The Master of Environmental Science and Management (MESM)program is a two-year* professional degree program designed for individuals who plan to enter or re-enter the workforce upon graduation. The program focuses on application and problem-solving and has three parts: the first-year core curriculum, the second-year work in one of seven Specializations, and the Group Project or Eco-Entrepreneurship Project.
The MESM degree is not intended as an intermediate degree for the PhD; however, MESM alumni are adequately prepared for PhD studies in many disciplines, including Environmental Science & Management.

The Bren School MESM degree requires students to complete a core curriculum that provides solid foundation in coupled human and environmental systems. Students become conversant in the language, knowledge, techniques, and methodologies of various disciplines while developing general analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the adaptability that is indispensable to professional success. Our objective is to provide a foundation of multidisciplinary knowledge plus quantitative and analytical skills that will enable students to interpret, design, communicate, and implement policy and management solutions. Students normally complete the core courses during the first year of study; the courses are designed to accommodate varying levels of knowledge.

Required Undergraduate Preparation for the MESM Program
The Bren School welcomes applicants from any undergraduate major, and we value a diverse student body. The Bren faculty expect applicants to have completed the following minimum prerequisite coursework:
§ Science – two courses (quarter or semester)科学课程
Applicants may meet the science prerequisite requirement through any combination of two courses in chemistry, biology, physics, earth science, or atmospheric science (including lower- and upper-division courses). Prospective students may want to view syllabi for MESM core courses on natural science (ESM 201 Ecology of Managed Ecosystems, ESM 202 Environmental Biogeochemistry, and ESM 203 Earth System Science). By reviewing these syllabi, prospective students will better understand topics covered in these courses and therefore will identify relevant topics for prior study.申请者可以通过化学,生物学,物理学,地球科学或大气科学(包括低年级和高年级课程)两门课程的任何组合满足科学先决条件要求。
§ Math – two courses (quarter or semester)数学课程
The Bren School emphasizes quantitative and analytical approaches to environmental problem solving, so it is essential for students to have an adequate mathematical foundation. § Social Science – one courses (quarter or semester)社会科学
Solving environmental problems requires understanding not only science-based solutions, but also the social, political and economic context to determine feasibility. The MESM application will open in the Fall of 2018. MESM applications are normally due early January every year.
