佐治亚大学（University of Georgia，缩写UGA）成立于1785年，是全美历史最悠久的研究型大学和佐治亚州大学系统规模最大的学校，被誉为美国南方三所“公立常春藤”大学之一。主校区位于佐治亚州小城阿森斯市的大学城，在亚特兰大也设有校区（亚特兰大为佐治亚州首府，阿森斯本身也临近亚特兰大）。

佐治亚大学校园历史氛围十分浓厚，到处是历史悠久的建筑，走在校园里，连空气都会弥漫着历史的气息。佐治亚大学现按方位分为东、南、西、北、中五个校区。其中北校区和南校区集中了大量的历史建筑，是学校早期历史的见证，其它三个校区则系后来新建。学校最古老的建筑是一所仿耶鲁大学“康涅狄格礼堂”的“旧学院（Old College）”，现被佐治亚大学明文定为“学校永久的一部分”，另一标志性建筑则是一座被称作“佐治亚拱门”的铁制拱形建筑。
佐治亚大学位于佐治亚州，本省是美国经济比较发达的州省，首府亚特兰大更是曾举办过奥运会，而学校所在地阿森斯即临近亚特兰大，就业大环境非常好。
佐治亚大学的传播学院与公共行政学院素为全美最顶尖的五所学校之一，这两个学院是佐治亚大学名气最大两个学院。另外，教育学、会计、法学、历史等专业排名亦不弱，工程、理科类专业排名较低对本科生而言，“公立常青藤”可谓教育质量的保证，也是学校声誉的保证，新生保持率94%，公立大学中名列前茅，即使与顶级的私立大学相比也毫不逊色。
不过佐治亚大学主要以佐治亚本州学生为主，佐治亚本州的高中生，只要GPA达到3.0便可以入读佐治亚大学。学校规模超大、国际学生比例不及1%，体育尤其是女子体操尤其强势，已捧10座NCAA冠军。整体而言，佐治亚大学的留学性价比很高——相比其USNEWS排名来讲。

Curriculum Overview
A total of 41 semester hours are needed for the completion of the MPA program. A mandatory socialization sequence and five core courses introduce the student to the various fields of public administration and the economic foundations of public policy. In addition, two required courses in research methods assist students in developing a familiarity with quantitative techniques in public decision making. Students must also select six courses from a number of available elective specializations to complete their degree. Students attending full-time can expect to complete the program in two years (four semesters).

Internship Requirement
Before graduating, the student must complete a public service internship and submit a paper on the experience. Internships must be completed at a public sector government agency or nonprofit organization that is non-partisan and non-sectarian in scope.

Fields of Study
A student may choose either to specialize in a single specific area of study or to complete a generalist degree. Areas of specialization include the following:
• Health Policy and Administration
• Higher Education Administration
• Local Government Administration
• Nonprofit Administration
• Public Budgeting and Finance Administration
• Public Management/Organization Theory
• Public Policy
To achieve a concentration in an area of specialization, an MPA student must take four courses in that area. To complete a generalist degree, students must choose a minimum of two courses from within at least two of the specified areas of specialization.
Tuition
As of Fall 2019, the current cost of study for the MPA per credit hour is $417 (in-state) and $1,082 (out-of-state). Fees are currently assessed at $1,145 per semester. Fees for students studying at the Gwinnett campus are $652 per semester.
Nine credits (3 courses) is considered a full-time course load for graduate students. A full-time student would thus pay $4,898 (in-state) or $10,883 (out-of-state) per semester.
Scholarship/Assistantship Opportunities
The Department of Public Administration and Policy offers a number of teaching and research assistantships that carry stipends for a nine-month academic year. The Graduate School also offers competitive assistantships and faculty members occasionally hire research assistants to work on funded research projects.
Completion Rate & Placement
The MPA degree is designed to be a two-year program (four semesters total) for a full-time student. Of the 66 students who matriculated in the 2013-14 academic year, 67 percent (44 students) completed the degree in two years and 89 percent (59 students) graduated within three years, and 94 percent (62 students) graduated within 4 years. With a total of 94 percent graduating and persisting to graduation.
