在澳洲读完授课型硕士可以直接申请博士学位吗？

总所周知，澳洲教育产业发达，凭借着优质的环境和低入学门槛吸引了众多的中国留学生。在澳洲教育产业中硕士教育占了很大的一部分比例。在澳洲，硕士学位如同欧美国家一样分为授课型硕士（coursework）以及研究型硕士（research）。

从时间上来看：授课式硕士课程大多数为一到两年，而研究式硕士课程为两到三年；从教学形式上来看：授课式硕士结合讲课、研讨、实习、导师个别辅导和个人自学等学习方式。平时按照老师要求交几篇论文或研究报告，部分学科需要通过期末考试，评分根据论文和平时的考试决定，修满学分即可。研究式硕士课程很像澳洲的博士研究，是完全独立的研究，评分也根据最后的研究报告。若研究进度令校方满意，可申请继续进行博士研究。因此，研究式硕士的研究结果可被看成是博士研究的一部分；从学费上看：研究式硕士学费比授课式贵，除非获得奖学金。

很多的同学朋友会担心授课式硕士（coursework）学位会不会比研究型（research）硕士学位“水”或者含金量不高，这是要参照同学们自己的目标，如果你的目标是尽早工作的话，授课型硕士并不会给你找工作带来什么负面的影响，工作面试更加看重的是学校的品牌，在校的成绩和项目以及是否有研究成果。对于工科来说科研成果可能是决定面试成果与否的一个很重要的因素，但是澳洲的授课型硕士（coursework）同样也具备research path，一般设置在第二学年，绩点达到要求后可以选修。

如果你在申请以及就读授课型硕士的过程中，想要继续读博士（Phd）。我经过询问各大高校的老师以及已经读博的学长学姐后，有以下建议：

1. 如果你还没有申请研究生学位，决定以后读Phd，请直接申请学校的Phd学位。是的，国外大学可以直接以本科的身份申请博士学位（Phd），也就是国内的直博操作。
2. 如果你刚上贼船不久，比如已经读了一个学期不到，又坚定了自己以后的路是成为一名光荣的研究人员，我的建议是退学coursework，重新申请Phd。而且，直接读Phd就是国外研究路径最普遍的做法。当然其中的金钱和时间的损失也要考虑清楚。
3. 如果你的coursework学习路径已经过半，就最好尝试以授课型硕士的身份去申请Phd学位了。毕竟耗费的时间和金钱让大多数人都会犹豫要不要退学重新读一个research硕士学位了。

大多数同学的情况都是申请了授课型硕士（coursework），然后在国外发现了自己也有资格申请Phd（Doctor of Philosophy）想要继续深造，开始了解如何申请澳大利亚的博士或者其他欧美国家的博士学位。下面就是我收集的一些资料，请大家选择自己感兴趣的部分查看：

1.授课型硕士能不能转研究型硕士？

这个要看各个学校的安排和具体要求，就我所在的墨尔本来说，墨尔本大学，皇家墨尔本理工学院以及莫纳什大学官方给出的建议，很遗憾，都是不可以。 如果授课型硕士想转研究型硕士，官方给出的意见是重新申请研究型硕士，然后之前授课型硕士退学。相信大家也同意这不是我们所理解的“转”。我估计其他学校也是一样。

2.读完授课型硕士可以直接申请澳大利亚的博士？

看情况定， 这个问题是由你的授课型硕士课程设置和目标学校博士的入学要求共同决定的。 以下是部分学校的Phd Enter Requirement。 

** 墨尔本大学 的 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**

商科

Doctor of Philosophy - Business and Economics (DR-PHILBE)

The following are minimum entry requirements and do not guarantee entry:

In order to be considered for entry, you must have completed:

a. a four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of 75% (80% for Economics) in the final year subjects or (University of Melbourne) equivalent, or

b. a masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of 75% or (University of Melbourne) equivalent, or

c. a qualification and professional experience considered to be equivalent.****

To be considered for entry to a PhD you must demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

Minimum qualifications

You are normally required to have completed at least a four-year honours undergraduate degree.

INTERNATIONAL DEGREES

Not all international undergraduate degrees are considered equivalent to an Australian four-year honours undergraduate degree. Our Research Higher Degree Committee uses Australian Government Country Education Profiles to determine equivalency.

As a general guideline, if your qualification leads directly to admission to research in your home country then your qualification will most likely be eligible for graduate research at the University of Melbourne.

Minimum level of academic achievement

You are normally required to have achieved an overall H1 (80–100%) grade in your undergraduate degree or your masters degree, or be in the top 5% of your graduating cohort.

Relevance of the degree

Your completed degree must be in an area that is relevant to the intended graduate research program, including sufficient specialisation such that you will have already developed an understanding and appreciation of a body of knowledge relevant to your intended PhD. ****

这个就是以前有类似的研究方向且学分不低于80/100可以申请，无所谓授课型或者研究型。

Monash 对所有PhD申请者的 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

2.1.1.1 Standard entry

The minimum qualifications for admission to PhD enrolment are:

1.a bachelor's degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant field, and which normally includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field;__

2.a master's degree that entails work, normally including a significant research component, including at least 25% of one full time equivalent year of work, including a thesis. It is normally expected that a grade of honours 2A has been obtained for the research thesis or project. Where ungraded, examiners' reports will be taken into account;

. 读完授课型硕士适不适合申请澳大利亚的博士？

适不适合这个问题因人而异，但是我想说的是授课硕士在PhD的申请过程中是处于很大劣势的。授课硕士是很少有机会给你接受科研训练并且发文章的，在奖学金的申请时候，本来拿到很高的平均分就很难了，但是还没有一两篇paper管用。当然题主要是准备自费的话，这点请忽略。

最后如果确定想申PhD，不建议读Master by coursework。Master by coursework的课程设置并不是为PhD做准备的，如果题主目标就是PhD那么这两年可以说是在浪费时间。其次，如果你是想用Master by coursework作为跳板来申请PhD，那我更不建议，你作为Master by coursework毕业想qualified for PhD是需要你有非常优秀的成绩的，基本上要你们本专业这一届学生里的前几名，其实是在给自己增加难度的。
