乔治城大学本科申请信息简介

乔治城大学（Georgetown University）创建于1789年，世界顶尖高等学府，美国最古老的大学之一。乔治城大学位于美国首都华盛顿特区，是一所顶尖综合性私立大学，位列2017-18年度US NEWS美国大学本科排名第20名。

乔治城大学距白宫西北面两英里左右。乔治城大学在政治学，国际关系学以及众多社会科学领域遥遥领先其他常春藤学校，许多外国使节的子女在此念书，因而赋予了该大学很浓的国际色彩，并由此获得了“政客乐园”的称誉。同时乔治城大学也是美国本土一所颇具贵族气质的学校。由于学校规模小，USNews给出的排名仅为前20名，但乔治城大学在美国本土的影响力完全可以比肩众多常青藤名校，尤其是在政治和外交领域，很多来自常青藤学校的学生转学来到乔治城大学攻读政治学和外交类学科。

乔治城大学沃尔什外交学院 (Walsh School of Foreign Service，简称SFS) 与哈佛大学肯尼迪政治学院，约翰·霍普金斯大学保罗·尼采高级国际研究学院（SAIS），哥伦比亚大学国际与公共事务学院（SIPA）齐名，为美国及世界各国政府机构，政策智库输送大量杰出的领导人与著名学者。

乔治城大学是著名的爱国者联盟盟校。除乔治城大学之外，该联盟由包括麻省理工学院、西点军校和美国海军学院（USNA）在内的12个精英学府组成。这些学府的共同特点是规模小和高度精英化。

美国前总统克林顿，前国务卿奥尔布赖特，中国外交部长王毅等多位杰出的政治家与外交家都曾在乔治城大学就读。

关于面试：

All first-year applicants, including international applicants, are required to have an interview with an alumnus as part of the admissions process unless it is geographically impossible. Interviews for transfer students are optional. No interviews are available for Special Student Program applicants.

Please note that no interviews take place here on campus and we do not ask (or expect) students to travel to other cities/countries for the interview. If you live in a city/country where no alumni interviewers are available, the interview will be waived. Rest assured that in such situations, the lack of an interview will not negatively impact the final decisions rendered on applications.

· SAT - Georgetown's SAT code is 5244. Georgetown only considers the critical reading and math portions of the SAT, not the writing section. If an applicant takes the SAT more than once, the admissions committees will consider the highest critical reading score and the highest math score from multiple test sessions when reviewing the application.

· ACT - Georgetown's ACT code is 0668. Georgetown accepts the ACT in lieu of the SAT. Applicants who take the ACT more than once will have their highest composite score considered in the evaluation process. The optional writing section on the ACT is not required, nor is the writing subscore used in the application review process.

· SAT Subject Tests - It is strongly recommended that all candidates, whether they have taken the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT, submit three SAT Subject Tests scores. The scores from writing portion on the SAT Reasoning Test and the optional writing portion of the ACT will not be used in place of a Subject Test.

· TOEFL - Georgetown's TOEFL code is 5244. TOEFL is recommended for candidates studying in non-U.S. educational systems and whose native language is not English. Georgetown also does accept results from the IELTS. Please contact IELTS USA for details about this exam.
